To the PUP HOUSE

Hello internet,

Admittedly, it has been a very long time.

I am pleased to announce the new shape on my horizon: I've been embroiled in a shadow puppet production that will be debuted at Brain Frame 13 in Chicago and performed at the Autoptic Festival in Minneapolis. I will gradually leak info about the show over the next few weeks.

To start off! I am incredibly fortunate and excited to be collaborating with the groovy Quicksails on the soundtrack and ambient background sounds for the show. I implore you all to listen to Ben Billington's jams HERE.

Pup House alumn, Jenna Caravello made an amazing video for a recent Quicksails release. Keep your friends close!

The performance

Last week, while Chicago Public Schools were on spring break, I hosted a puppet making extravaganza at the Cambodian Association of Illinois, for youth in Albany park that needed something to do while there were out of school. Among our long list of activities: we studied Southeast Asian puppet making techniques, watched a variety of contemporary shadow puppet performances, played improv games, and designed our own puppets and the stories to go with them. Puppets will be up on display in the children's gallery at the Cambodian American Heritage Museum until June.

Below is a brief look at the final performance.

Two master puppet makers display and discuss their creations (a pony and a griffin) in the bug museum before the performance.

Disaster at Rest

The show at Roy G Biv was a complete mess. So much so, that in my strung out neglect and carelessness on the part of everyone involved in the project, documentation of the show is nearly non-existent. In twenty first century terms, if it doesn't live on the internet, does it exist at all? Below is some blurry affirmation.
